    • I've probably seen all the EVH videos ever made and this one is the best - sometimes you just need to see the real thing! I especially liked how you said all his Frankie guitars were unique - this made me realize Eddie didn't go OCD trying to get all the stripes exactly the same (like us home-gamers). Congratulations, Tyler! KGcoders SATSUMA3042 and Lee Q Wu should also make a video playing this guitar - these youtube vids are a great way to let the world know about the auction.

  • Eddie was THE Floyd Rose master. I still can't get action on a floyd guitar as low as the action on that one looks and have it resemble anything like playable. Buzz to hell and gone. I used to say "I wish Eddie would set this guitar up for me" and, truth be told, he probably would have under the right circumstances. Now.... all hope is lost.

  • This is a pretty shallow statement from myself, considering the raw, natural and earned talent that Eddie had, but I also found him unique in the fact that he smiled. He looked like he was having fun. Most of the other guitar talent in the hard rock genre at the time (and still) had these scowls, black eye makeup, brooding, hidden behind their hair, like they're gonna torture you given the chance, blades, skulls, it was "dad's first Harley", over-the-top skull & bones b.s. Eddie shows up w a wild guitar & personified all the good things about the L.A. music scene before it became goth nerds in black jeans.

One guitar looks just like that. Other looks like a Les Paul with that Rose. Still have both guitars. Sad to see he passed away. I’d never sell them.

Something that strikes me is these guitars were gifted by a special man and I see them auctioned for insane amounts of money. These people who where blessed by the generosity of such a giving man who be more blessed paying it forward and auctioning for charity. Like Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation. That would be so heartwarming. That said, I have always thought the Kramer 5150s during the 86 tour were the single most beautiful guitars ever. Again, I am so happy for you.

  • Great Video! Eddie was a fantastic innovator and guitar player. His style was his own no doubt. I remember in the early 80's everyone wanted to learn the VH songs and play Like EVH. People are still doing it, great music never dies. The man knew how to take apart things and experiment. A Les Paul trait for sure. All the great recording tech started with Les Paul and EVH did his own to continue that trend. All that being said Clapton's browny is the top of the mountain lol. If you get a hold of Jimmy Page's 59' Gibson Les Paul you are shaking hands with God lol. To each his own, my opinion. Page just got back his stolen triple pickup black beauty Les Paul that would be a cool review give him a call. Kick Hammitt now owns the famous Greeny 59' Les Paul First played by the late Peter Green then passes on to the late Gary Moore. There are plenty of famous guitars out there to build Mount Rushmore and I only named some. Keep up the great videos and I hope that lets you check out some more famous guitars.

  • Bro, come on... everyone knows that EVH did not use floating Floyd Rose tremolo set ups. They are all flush mount. Probably for 3 reasons. Better tone (when flush against the wood, easier to keep in tune), if he broke a string he could still play, and when D-Tuna came out, it does not work with a floating Floyd bridge. Even the VH signature EBMM, Peavey, and now EVH wolfgangs don’t come floating. Love your channel, playing, and videos, but if you are going to be blessed to play such an iconic guitar, you need to know your shit better or at least do research first. Also missing the B and high E locking nut clamp and you didn’t know it wasn’t locked? Did you also not realize the volume knob was missing from the pot? Come on man! 🙄😑
