Kurt Warner and the Rams were known as the greatest show on turf, they tore through the offensive record books and looked nearly unstoppable throughout the 2001 season. In the eyes of most people, a trip to the Super Bowl was an accomplishment for a Patriots team being led by its backup quarterback, Tom Brady. However, the Patriots had larger aspirations as they defeated the Rams on a game winning field goal from Adam Vinatieri. The win against the Rams was the first Super Bowl victory in Patriot's history and was a launching point for their dynasty of the 2000's.

This is tainted and disgusting, it's a fact that patriots cheated and they let them get away with it. If you watch you can see patriots knew what plays were coming. especially on the interception deep in Rams territory. Disgusting, and corrupt roger goodell let it go unpunished. The same corrupt jack ass that let ray rice slide even after he saw the video of him knocking out his gf before anyone else did. then after video released he acted like he never saw it before. • Wow. I forgot when it was 17-3 how the Rams caught 3 breaks on 3 straight plays. 2 were missed Ints. Milloy and Law. But then that ridiculous call on Big Willie. It was within 5yds and the play-fake was to that area, he made the right play. The fumble was returned for a TD, should've been 24-3. Instead the Rams got lucky and it became a football game. The Patriots manhandled the Rams for 50+ minutes. Warner is a tough guy though, I'll give him credit. Fortunately the GOAT was ready when it was his turn to win the game. The start of it all!!!

    • Should've been 24-3 anyways. On the fumble return for a TD called back, that wasn't a penalty. Within 5yds, it was a play-fake to that area and McGinnist did exactly what you're supposed to do. The Rams were lucky it ever became a game.

  • Hang on now... I thought that field goals could take up no more than 5 seconds of game clock... there were 7 seconds left on the game clock when Vinatieri hit his game-winning kick. There should have been 2 seconds left for the rams to potentially return a game-winning kickoff return TD.

    GingerJabberGingerJabber2 ай мурун
    • Idk why they ran out the clock cause the ball hit the net at 2:04:08 and the time at least has 1 or 2 secs left. then the ball hit the ground which is way too long to keep having the time run out and there was still a sec left.

  • "Tom Brady's epic upset of the St. Louis Rams"? How could anyone who watched this game come away with that impression? It was a team effort. Saying otherwise undermines all the other players contributions. Granted Brady's last minute play is memorable. He was little more than serviceable for the other 58 1/2 minutes, though. His defense played extraordinary for the first 52 mins and really if not for the bogus holding call at the goal line on 4th down they would have put the game away for good. Vinatieri absolutely deserved the MVP. Nailing that 48 yard kick with no time remaining, knowing in overtime the Rams had momentum and his offense had scored 3 measly points in 2 and 1/2 about grace under pressure. But to me the real unsung hero has always been Redman. Fought through 2 defenders to just barely get out of bounds and stop the clock at 33 seconds. He had to go a good 6-7 yards after initial contact, if he doesn't get out of bounds on that play it forces Brady to throw a much less conservative pass to get them in FGR and the game almost certainly goes to OT.
