  • Funny thing, it’s super easy to weld 3mm steel with a 1/8th E6011, and as a direct result of that, the number of dustpans that are 3mm thick is above zero.

  • it's so great to see well finished, machined parts, for even the most mundane of objects. if only i had a several thousand dollar CNC drill press/cutting press lol. then again adam savage has pretty much a much more expensive "classic tech" non-CNC drill press machine and a large enough lathe to fix any mistakes or balancing, but this is like wonerful engineering at it's finest

Off topic, I always enjoy your videos and the production content is top notch. Can you share what video software you are using and how much computer does it take to drive all that stuff. I'm looking to up my game and admire your material greatly. Thanks Tony. Stay well.

    • Joe! Stop it you're making me blush. I use Premiere Elements (the cheap version of Adobe Premiere)... plenty good for what I need... and no monthly subscription! Not sure what the official specs are to run it, I'm sure it's on their website, but I have a ~3 year old laptop that seems to do pretty alright. It breaks a sweat doing the final processing and absolutely chokes if I try to throw 4k at it, but otherwise okay.

  • 20 years ago, it was barbaric to drink in a book store? Must've never had a Hastings around, not only did they have a coffee kiosk _in_ the book section, front of the store also had a soda fountain and popcorn machine, they may have also had other unpackaged food items but I honestly don't remember if they did. Even Books-A-Million had at least Joe Mugs, though I don't remember if any of them ever had food. The only book stores I knew of that were super anal about food and drinks being around were those local ones that had absolutely no organization to them, the kind that looked like a flea market space packed with old paper back books from floor to ceiling with very small walkways between shelves, like what your tidy local library would look like if it was ransacked, and the owners who are the book equivalent of the crazy cat lady who is also a massive conspiracy theorist; otherwise most local places were still pretty chill when it came to drinks, most of them would even have a coffee maker behind the counter, with mostly fresh coffee.
